Dr. Alan Wang, Salude
Dr. Alan Wang graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors in Chemistry. He graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine where he received his MD and was an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Wang helped start the Emory Hospital Medicine Program and was one of the initial five physicians that implemented hospital medicine programs at four locations and served as a Site Medical Director for Hospital Medicine at various locations. He was named the Chief Medical Officer at Emory Johns Creek Hospital and served in that role until August of 2012. During his tenure, Emory Johns Creek Hospital received the highest initial Joint Commission survey results of any HCA hospital in history, with no major findings or recommendations. Also under his leadership, Emory Johns Creek Hospital ranked number one out of nearly 170 HCA hospitals for overall patient satisfaction. He oversaw physician recruitment for Emory Johns Creek and has served on the Georgia Hospital Association’s Task Force for Quality Improvement for Targeted Care Measures. Dr. Wang was a member of the Emory Johns Creek Hospital Board of Trustees during the time he served in this role.
After a thorough national search, Dr. Wang was named the Director of the Emory Section of Hospital Medicine. In this role, he oversaw the Emory Section of Hospital Medicine at eight facilities, Palliative Care at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown, a Clinical Research/Quality Improvement Program, a Faculty Development Program and the Section’s involvement in the medical education of residents at the various locations. Under his leadership, Emory Hospital Medicine advanced to become the 10th Division in the Department of medicine that had more than 100 faculty members, serving seven hospitals in Georgia making it the largest academic hospital medicine program in the country and the largest hospital medicine system in the state. In addition, a joint task force from the Society of Hospital Medicine and the Society of General Internal Medicine recognized Emory Hospital Medicine as one of the top 15 academic hospital medicine programs in the country.
Dr. Wang currently is the Chief Executive Officer and the Medical Director for Salude, a new post-acute care company focused on innovative transitional care facilities. Dr. Wang oversees operations of more than 100 employees in Suwanee. The company plans on expanding its operations across the United States during the coming years.
