Gwinnett Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine is the oldest, established pediatric practice in Gwinnett County, with four locations in Duluth, Hamilton Mill, Lawrenceville and Sugar Hill.

It has been serving the medical needs of the children of Gwinnett County for more than 40 years. Dr. Hal Herd founded Gwinnett Pediatrics, as a solo practitioner, in a small office on Old Peachtree Street in downtown Duluth. He was the first pediatrician to have a full-time practice in Gwinnett County. In 1975, he moved his office adjacent to the Joan Glancy Hospital in Duluth and in that hospital created an Intermediate Care Level Nursery and a Pediatric Inpatient Service. In 1980 and thereafter, new pediatricians were added regularly as the practice grew. Currently there nearly 20 Board Certified Pediatricians and Nurse Practitioners delivering medical care. The staff has particularly enjoyed watching many of the patients grow up and bring their children in. They actually have “grand-patients” and “great-grand-patients” now.
