Carolyn Hill, Gwinnett Health System
A long-time resident of Gwinnett County, Carolyn Hill is a champion for improving the wellness of others. At a very young age, she was faced with the impact of disease when her mother was diagnosed with bone cancer. As an adult, she has worked diligently to ensure that members of the community have what they need for good emotional, financial, physical and spiritual health. Carolyn’s favorite saying, “You just have to love people where they are”, demonstrates her care and compassion.
Known also for her strong business acumen, she became the second woman to serve on the Gwinnett Health System Board of Directors, paving the way for other female leaders. She has held many roles in the past 25 years with her Gwinnett Health System involvement, including serving as the Chair of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees, Chair of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation Ball and the chairperson of the TIME MATTERS in the fight against Breast Cancer campaign, which raised nearly $5 million.
In addition to serving in leadership positions, Carolyn and her husband Wayne have made significant contributions to the foundation to support a variety of programs and services including cancer care, the Care-a-Van, digital mammography, Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth and the campaign to bring open heart services to Gwinnett.
Today Carolyn serves as the chairperson of the Board’s Community Benefit Committee, ensuring that the Health System is developing programs and services to meet the needs of our diverse community. She is also a member of the Health System’s Women’s Advisory Council.
