Dr. Hampton Groover
Peachtree Christian Hospice
Dr. Groover’s background includes administration, geriatrics, hospice, hospital-based palliative medicine, internal medicine, long-term care, teaching and wound care. He has broad experience in the United States and overseas as a speaker and educator.
After pre-med studies at University of California Irvine and University of Georgia, he attended the Medical College of Georgia and then Internal Medicine Residence and a year as Chief Resident at Atlanta Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and also Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Groover has served as the Medical Director of Peachtree Christian Hospice for more than 10 years.
He is the founder and director of the Atlanta Medical Center’s Palliative Medicine Program and is chairman of the Ethics and Pain Management Committees there. He also serves as the Hospice Medicare and Medicaid peer-review organization in Georgia. Dr. Groover received two American College of Physician’s Scientific Achievement Awards for education and scientific presentations. He was also awarded the Department of Defense Patriot Award for his support of the National Guard Reserve.
